Since Nevada's Question 2 passed in 2016, anyone 21 or over with photo ID can walk into a licensed dispensary and buy legally. No residency is required.

The single most important thing a visitor needs to know: buying is legal, but there is almost nowhere legal to use it. Nevada allows consumption only on private property or in a licensed lounge. Your casino-resort hotel room is not an option, and neither is the Strip, a car or the desert parks most visitors drive to.

The Law Right Now

Adult use is governed by NRS Chapter 678D. Since SB 277 took effect on 1 January 2024, adults 21+ may possess up to 2.5 ounces (about 71g) of flower and up to one-quarter ounce (about 7g) of concentrate. The same limits cap purchases.

For non-US citizens, the heavier consequence is immigration. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) treats cannabis as a federally controlled substance.
